.: A Timeline of Ancient & Biblical History
Volume IV Version History
Version 1.1
The first creation of the timeline was a very rough draft that compared the years of Judean kings with the years of Nebuchadnezzar and his successors. The events of Daniel were also interrelated. Honestly, it was difficult to read and was created with very limited software in Word Perfect 6.1. Version 1.1 began in 1997 and was used as a supplement for a small Bible study on the book of Daniel. The only copies were printed out for those in that study and the version was never published.
Version 1.2
The second work on the timeline developed a few years later and began to take form in 2000 with another Daniel Bible study group. In 2004, the same charts were edited and began to look much like the present PowerPoint slides. Essentially, 1.2 was an early pre-release rough draft of the timeline which is now on the CD. This version was produced in limited copies and was passed onto a few pastors and teachers for review.
Version 1.3
The third version looks very similar to the version you now have on this CD. 1.3 was another pre-release edition and contained less bonus material. The HTML looked less appealing and contained less graphics. The HTML versions of the timeline were not completed and only the PowerPoint version contained all the years from 634 - 525.
Version 1.4
This is the first actual version that has been published and released for sale to the public. We hope you enjoy the timeline and that it provides resources to challenge the mind. Thanks for your support.
Version 1.5
We do have plans for future updates and releases. Version upgrades will be available for free download. Currently on the slate for the next version are the following:
- Creating horizontal charts, 100 year charts, 50 year charts, 10 year charts, and other PowerPoint presentations for Ezekiel, Daniel, and Jeremiah.
- The timeline in Flash format.
- Integrating the final years of the Kingdom of Urartu.
- Integrating the history of the Far East, specifically, the Later Zhou Dynasty of China.
- Including more extensive notes on the coregency of Jehoiachin.
- Elaborating further on the rise of Nabopolassar from the Babylonian Chronicles (BM 25127).
- Integrating some more history of the Greeks and Romans, their rulers, philosophers, and writers.
- Integrating more general world history on the timeline century by century.
- Including more artwork and photography.
- We hope to republish some out of print works pertaining to the Babylonian Empire including Henry Graham Dakyns translation of Xenophon's Cyropaedia.
- We hope to get permission to print other original documents.
- We hope to fine tune some more details of history based on new research, making the timeline more accurate, more precise, and more detailed.
- We hope to add to the bibliography of the notes more resources for good research.
